It's almost time! Check out our progress! - Pictures!

We only have the rest of today and tomorrow to finish preparing for our opening on Monday at 11am!

We have been working really hard and the library is looking fantastic! We have books and DVDs on the shelves, our computers are set up, and everything looks beautiful!

You will notice in our pictures, that there is empty shelf space, don't worry! We have left the bottom two shelves empty on purpose, this leaves us room to grow our collection and makes it so you don't have to bend down too far to look for the books you love!

We will be continuing to add new books to our collection EVERY DAY! So make sure you keep checking back with us and watch us grow!

We are still waiting on our soft furniture to come in. We expect it to be here, hopefully next week sometime. Until then we have some other comfortable chairs around the library.

We will begin taking donations starting mid July.

Come and see us on Monday and see how things are going, give us your feedback and let us know how happy you are to have a library in Camden. :)

Day four - With pictures!

Well, today concludes our first week of working in the new Camden County Public Library! It has been a great first week and we have been going SO FAST! It has been fun! You would think that branding thousands of books and DVDs would be boring work, but not with my coworkers! We set up an assembly line and were able to get things done super fast and we get along wonderfully so we were able to keep each other entertained.

I have already left work, but when I left, we had finished ALL of our books and DVDs. We expect a shipment of 6-10 more boxes later today, but as fast as we have been going through them, they also will be done by the end of the day. Next week, we start checking them into the system and shelving them.

We have a lot of DVDs, both fiction and non fiction for both kids and adults! New and old DVDs alike! Don't worry, we aren't just keeping the classics, we have new releases as well!

Once we get our catalog live, feel free to browse our collection. If we do not have a book or movie you desire and we can not get it from another branch, just send us an email, leave a comment, or talk to us in person and you can make a request! We would LOVE to hear what you want to see in our library! :)

Day Three - with pictures!

We are going through the books super fast! All of the shelves are assembled and ready for us to fill them up. We are still waiting on the computers to be set up and for a few more pieces of furniture to arrive.

We actually finished all of the books we had on day three (posting this on day four because I forgot to yesterday). We will be getting a few more boxes to open a bit later and then we will have new books every month. :)

I'll post a bit more on the fourth day about our progress thus far.

There has been a lot of progress just in the short amount of time that we have been working here! The shelves are almost all assembled, we have a couple thousand books ready to be checked into our system and shelved, and our internet is being hooked up. Here are some more great photos!

Starting the Library (with pictures!) - Day 1

Well, today was our 2nd day in the Library! We have been really busy!

We have IT guys from Practical Computing setting up our computers, lots of great workers assembling our shelves and setting up furniture, and then all of the staff unpacking/organizing/branding TONS of books!

We have gotten through most likely over 2000 of our 5500 books in the last two days. We are fast ;)

But, we are just beginning! We have a lot of work ahead of us.

We want to keep you guys up to date on our progress, so we are going to be posting pictures of our progress.
